ICONIC BRANDS STRAIGHT FROM SOURCE
Looking for flat pedals that will hold your shoes even in the roughest terrain, withstand hard rock impacts, and won't break the bank? Dartmoor Roost represent a new generation of composite pedals engineered specifically for modern gravity riding. Whether you are shredding technical sections on enduro trails, hitting dirt jumps or BMX, or storming downhill tracks in the bike park, these pedals will give you uncompromising confidence in every turn and on every landing. Thanks to the combination of metal pins and a lightweight nylon body, you get maximum support without unnecessary weight.
At the heart of the Dartmoor Roost pedals is a highly durable nylon body made from a custom composite blend. Unlike standard plastic pedals, this material flexes just enough to absorb rock strikes without cracking. The key to their incredible traction, however, lies in the pin setup: on each side, you will find 10 metal pins secured with nuts (M3). Your shoes will literally lock into the pedal, keeping you firmly in place even when charging aggressively through berms or wet root sections.
Beneath the surface, a proven internal system powers these pedals. At its core is a strong, tough Cr-Mo steel axle capable of handling heavy gap landings and the continuous loads of e-MTB riding. Smooth rotation is handled by a combination of one sealed cartridge bearing and one DU bushing. This layout effectively keeps dirt, water, and mud out of the internal mechanism, significantly extending service intervals so the pedals spin smoothly even after a full season of heavy thrashing.
Many riders believe aluminum is the only real choice. However, modern reinforced nylon composites offer a major advantage: upon striking a rock, composite pedals slide off obstacles instead of sticking hard like metal. Additionally, composite pedals lack anodized coatings, meaning their original color stays intact even after grinding against rocks all day long. Weighing in at just 390 grams per pair, you get top-tier performance for a fraction of the cost of full-alloy models.
Yes, absolutely. The Dartmoor Roost uses standard M3 threaded metal pins passing through the pedal body with securing nuts. If you bend or lose a pin in a hard impact, you can easily unthread it with an Allen key and replace it with a new one.
To unlock the full potential of these pedals, we recommend dedicated flat pedal bike shoes with soft rubber compounds (such as Ride Concepts, Five Ten, etc.). The metal pins of the Dartmoor Roost dig perfectly into soft rubber, delivering outstanding support rivaling clipless pedals.
